Does what it is supposed to do for a very good price. The surface it goes to needs to be clean to get a good ground. Doesn't work on irregular surfaces, but it isn't supposed to. At that point, grind some paint off one of the HF c-clamps and use it. They used to sell a c-clamp one with a copper pad on one side that worked very well.

At $6 this almost half the price of an equivalent quality Hobart I saw in TSC. The magnet is very strong (especially compared the ones in other HF tools) and compared to the pic, it was larger than I expected.

magnet and a stud, what more could you want. Takes decent effort to get the magnet off a flat service but irregular surface can be a challenge to get the stud to make good contact
