My my, it seems we have a troll on hfreviews.com. Well, Mr. Troll, apparently the cord caps I bought didn't have little brass plates. All they had were screws that a #2 phillips wouldn't even fit into.

I bought one of each, male and female, about two years ago to make a patch cord out of some 12 gauge romex. I don't recall any issues attaching the 12 gauge wire to either one, and the patch cord has been running some lights in my garage ever since. No complaints from me.

Duh! The wire goes under the brass plate on the terminal block, not around the screw. They work fine and are far cheaper than the comparable ones at the big box store.

Do NOT buy this. The screws inside of it are TINY! You cannot wrap a 14 gauge stranded wire around them. A hot spot waiting to happen when it's plugged in. I bought these on sale for $1 to fix an extension cord and threw them in the trash.
