I got several of these free with coupon. Love em! They are sharp, and great for opening packages, and the mailers I get from Ebay items. I think they are well worth a buck. Free is even better.

I picked up a bunch of these for 99 cents a piece and use them all the time. I like having throw away scissors around. At the price I paid I don't care if they get get messed up. Unlike some other reviews, I have to say I haven't broken any yet. Of the half dozen or so I've used, they've always been sharp and work well.

It's hard not to laugh at how bad these scissors are. I have several similar pairs from the grocery store that were about $2 and are light years ahead of these, even though they look nearly identical. Somehow, HF managed to find the world's worst scissors. So far, they have not compeltely fallen apart, but the plastic is cracked in several places. I use them to cut sandpaper and will feel no remorse when the break into several pieces (unless they cut me). I admit that I did not inspect these well when I bought them. Look at the packages next time you're there. There are a lot of these broken in the box. Plenty of badly formed plastic too. Stay away. Junk. Keep your dollar and buy a coke on the way home and thank me for the good advice.

Get these on sale for 99 cents. As mentioned by corman84, the handles break. Worth having a few pairs for when you don't want to crud up your good ones.

Suitable for wrapping paper, maybe newspaper but only single sheets. The handle breaks under moderate pressure, if you look through the ones still in the package you'll see a few it's already happened to. Look for the smaller red and black all metal scissors for a buck or 2 more, those are great.
