I am a professional mechanic and do a tremendous amount of front-end work on light and medium duty trucks. The first one I bought cracked into 2 pieces while walking out the lower ball joints on a minivan. This was the first time I used it. The store I bought it from warranted it, though I did get some static about not having a receipt. The second one has held up fairly well but I baby it. I have used it to replace u-joints and it did this quite well. I've also used it to apply tension to lower ball joints while they are driven out with an air hammer. It is very good at seating new ball joints. The longer I have it the more uses I find for it. Just today I used it to drive out the steering rack bushings on a Toyota Tacoma. The C has opened up enough to warrant re-facing the forcing area that opposes the screw. I keep the threads on mine greased and do not use air tools on it. The Snap-On version is quite a bit larger, made from much heavier steel, and can be used with 1/2 inch impact wrenches.

I used this professionaly, and I'm sure it paid for itself, but it did self destruct after some use.

I purchased this a year ago on sale for the eventual replacement of the U-joints on my Jeep. It was strong enough to push the rusted end caps through the yokes without bending. Be sure to have a socket and breaker bar on hand though.
