I wasn't impressed by the accuracy. I've used a couple other brands of this item, which were more accurate. I brought mine back.

I bought this as a 'starter' thermometer to measuring the varying temps around my house (walls, ceilings, exterior). It works well for my intended purpose, given the price ($25-30). I think it's accurate within 5 degrees (as another person mentioned) but given the price, it's close enough.

Got this for $30 and it does a decent job. Compared it to another unit and the temp. did differ a little, like the other guy said. Autozone sells one in the aisle (not behind the counter) for less $, with a better warranty and just a little less of a temp. range (max/min) to it.

I've had this for 2 months now. It works as advertised, and it's handy for checking the skillet temperature before making pancakes. It doesn't work well on reflective surfaces.

I've had no problems with this unit. I do think the readings are off by up to 5 degrees. We have another brand at work that seems to be more accurate but at about 4 times the price.
