I have several of these in the various paint configurations they've come in over the years. I have one as a support for the pickup topper lift contraption I detailed in #65688, and another as a crawlspace access door lift. I can't speak to their 1000-lb rating, but they're quite tough, and can easily hold a 300-lb fiberglass topper. I will continue to buy these as the need arises. The painted ones are my preference.
