They work, but for the in-between sizes they create some eccentricity in the hole. I haven't used these much, and usually just tape the bit or use the depth gauge on the drill press. If you have no other options, these will do. They're certainly more durable than tape, but not as good as a gauge / stop on the drill press.

Not a bad set but they cost the same as name brand sets at Home Depot or Lowes. I would not buy these as they are not the highest quality. Not worth buying from HF.
